Churches Together in Cheadle Hulme usually mark Easter with an open-air service in Oak Meadow. This year, once again, because of the pandemic, we have had to cancel it.

However, we still wanted to mark Holy Week and Easter. Therefore, we have commissioned a series of short acts of reflection and worship by the clergy and congregations in our member churches. Where and when you can watch or listen to each is listed below. Please feel free to invite friends, family and neighbours to share them.

If you would like to attend in-person worship this Easter, it is available at some of our churches. We’ve got a day by day list on our website.

Palm Sunday

Rev Dr Ruth Gouldbourne from Grove Lane Baptist Church leads prayers and reflection for Palm Sunday 2021.

Maundy Thursday

Join a service prepared by Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church for Maundy Thursday.

Good Friday

Rev Sarah Hancock from All Saints Parish Church (Church of England) shares why today is called ‘Good Friday’ even though it marks the day of Jesus’ crucifixion and death.

Easter Sunday

Dave Fraser, Alison Stevens and Don Phillips from Cheadle Hulme United Reformed Church lead a short service for Easter Day. He is risen!

Easter is the most significant event in the Christian calendar. It is when we remember Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection three days later. Jesus’ sacrifice and his rising from the dead are central to God’s relationship with all of us.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3 v16.

Happy Easter from the whole team at CTCH
